The Marathwada Mitramandal believes and works towards its motto, ‘Welfare of Masses’ through its renowned educational institutes. It continues its social and community outreach programs and has made a niche for itself in the society. The virtuous efforts of members and stakeholders have yielded development and progress of all, especially the downtrodden through their welfare measures.

Latur earthquake

A massive earthquake struck Latur in 1993 that caused heavy damage to life and property. Keeping in mind the duty and responsibility towards society and coming together for a social cause, the students and staff members, visited the affected area and worked incessantly to help the people in need.

Orphanage children coming to celebrate Diwali

Since 1993, for a period of fourteen years, children from an orphanage established by renowned social activist, Sindhutai Sapkal, visited the Deccan campus during Diwali vacation. The students enjoyed the love and affection and felt at home which till date is known as ‘Mama cha Ghar’. The students visited Mahabaleshwar and nearby places like Rajiv Gandhi Udyan, Appu Ghar etc. This established a strong bond between MM Mandal and orphanage.

Elocution Competition in collaboration with Anti Dowry Movement

Started in the year 1992, till date, since last 28 years, we are organizing intercollegiate Elocution Competition in collaboration with Anti Dowry Movement, Mumbai. Our Founder President, Late Hon. Shankarraoji Chavan (Home Minister, Govt. of India), inaugurated this competition.

‘Fase Pardhi’ tribe

The people from ‘Fase Pardhi’ tribe, left in lurch etc have been taken into mainstream of society with the efforts taken by Umed Foundation. In the year 2019, from 1st to 6th May, MM Mandal invited children belonging to Umed Foundation to Deccan campus.

UPSC / MPSC
examination

In order to cater to the demand for UPSC / MPSC examination, the Marathwada Mitramandal has started coaching classes in collaboration with Space Foundation and under the guidance of Shri Satish Patil. Hostel beneficiaries have made a mark in the society and in the area of public services. To name a few, ACP Prasad Akkanavaru, UPSC qualified Ansar Shaikh have been successful and continued their association with Marathwada Mitramandal.

Golden Jubilee Celebration
2019

The Foundation Day, on 19th January 2019, Golden Jubilee celebration of Marathwada Mitra Mandal whose motto has been “Welfare of Masses”.

Felicitation of NGOs

In view of the motto, “Welfare of Masses”, the Trust felicitated the establishers of three NGOs

  • Vinaya and Mahesh Nimbalkar of Snehgram at Barshi, Korphale
  • Ashok Deshmane of Snehvan at Bhosari
  • Kaveri and Deepak Nagargoje of Shantivan at Arvi, Beed
for their exemplary work for the children of single mothers, orphans, etc. A contribution of Rs One lakh each was made by the Trust to these NGOs.

‘Ek Mooth Samaja Sathi’.

Contributing towards the growing demand for old age homes and taking care of the old, the Marathwada Mitramandal has made regular donations in cash and kind. In order to inculcate the moral and social responsibility amongst the students, every day the children of school established by Late Vilasraoji Deshmukh, donate handful of food grains under the idea of ‘Ek Mooth Samaja Sathi’.

During Covid Time

During the Covid 19 pandemic, for a period of 4 months, 1000 lunch boxes were distributed to the needy by Marathwada Mitramandal College of Engineering. The benevolent efforts by Shri Arun Jangam and his family were cognized and honored by inviting him as Chief Guest on 15th August 2020 to applaud his efforts and donate Rs 51000/-.
